I got up late at 8am, had breakfast and made myself a sandwich for later. I decided I'd had enough of the sideways bed in the cramped room so found another hostel nearby which was even cheaper called Kawan. I moved there and was in the cheap attic room which had low ceilings but that did mean a single bed. There was no electric plug at my bed so I used one on the wall near another persons bed which had 2 other sockets. I left the hostel and went to a mosque across the road which looked pretty good and I was looking for my camera to take a picture when a couple turned up, stood in front and took pictures of each other. The mosque but this picture was taken at a later time Annoyed I left and headed south towards a park which connects by elevated platforms to other parks. I walked south along a main road diverting to go to churches and temples and such and I came to a print place so I followed up on an idea I had had to get business cards with my travelblog website address so that I can give them out and people can find this website. It was $14 for a batch of cards (50 I think) and they would need a picture of a certain size to do it. I carried on and went past a very nice church and then finally had made the 6km or so to the park, but I couldn't get to the mosque there so I just walked along the park which was a kibnd of ridgeway so had some views. Sentosa island was not too far away and a cable car went from there to this park for those who like things easier, there were also people getting buses here. I carried on and at the end of trhe park there was a wooden bridge over the road into the next park where I carried on and at the end again there was a bridge to cross. This park had a treetop walk so I went along that and it was getting late so I went through one more park and then walked to the underground station and caught the train back central to Dhobi Ghat. I was a little late but found the place no problem as Sia Yun had sent me lots of wattsapp messages but she was still busy rehearsing when I arrived. I had a rest and managed to connect to the internet, then she introduced me to some people there who play music and sing and would be with her for the new year concert. We went for lunch in the same building as they have a food court and then went to the studio but it wasn't ready yet so we went back to the music school and Sia Yun went to do some more rehearsing so I wandered around some shops like a scuba shop. After a bit we went to the music room which is a padded room where they had their instruments and they went through the set they were performing for the show. Most songs were in Chinese and some were good. Sia Yun had a habit of smiling when she sang and had a beautiful voice but after a while it was getting late and there were still so many things to see in Singapore so I left to go to some places before they shut. Unfortunately there was nothing nearby so I ended up back at the hostel before I went to the Malay museum, on the way I found a street market that was a bit car boot sale a bit people just selling anything in the street. I had a look for a cheap phone and some shoes but they didn't have anything good or cheap enough so I moved on and went to the Malay museum which charged so I left and came back and at least the mosque was empty for a picture.
I left the hostel to go on the Bunc computers but they were not working properly and nobody there could login as administrator to fix the basic problems, there were also a lot of people downloading movies there on the computers. I went back to my hostel - Kawan and used the one computer there which was ok, then I left and went through a park where people were playing football. I went to the corner but couldn't find the Indian restaurant but Tiong and Amelia turned up and showed me the place so we sat down and had some good cheap food and chatted away, before going to the mall place for teas again. As I was going to Johor Bahru the next day they left early and I headed back and went to sleep around 11.20.
