I got up at 8 and didn't feel too good it was down to the 700ml of vodka and not drinking enough water as well as not sleeping much. I'd woken up at 7 but slept in a bit more but I slowly got ready and went out to see who was around. Mark was up and about as usual as were others at the dive shop. I drunk a lot of water and then around 9 went for a swim with my goggles. I walked out first past the pier and then swum to see the reef and there were some fish and coral but nothing special and I would probably need to go further but I still didn't feel so well and slowly swum back to shore. I had a shower, hot dressed and packed most of my things away and then went to get my log book signed and updated with the dives and get all the paperwork done for the course and there wasn't much. Mark and I got some pictures together in front of the dive shop and I got a free t-shirt with the course which I gave to him. I headed off to get the boat and the pier was busy with lots of people there. My return ticket was fine which was good and I got on the second boat along with a blond girl and 2 french girls who were friends with Morganne and a French guy who had turned up to wave them off. The boat had a family on as well but still space for more people when it left. We went to 2 other piers around the island and really squeezed the people on before finally heading to Kuala Besut. At least the boat ride didn't take that long as I think we were there before 1pm and the blonde girl wanted to go to Kota Bharu with the French girls but they were not leaving yet. I was going there so I led the blonde who was not feeling well and wanted to go to the hospital and we were heading to the bus station when some people offered a taxi to Kota Bharu for 20 RM per person. It wasn't a bad price, but normally I would still probably say no but the blonde girl wanted it which made sense and as she might need some help I went along as well. I sat in the front and spoke with the taxi driver who had good English and had only been doing this for a few months while the girl went to sleep in the back. We arrived in town and got dropped off at the front of the hospital which wasn't too far from my hostel and went into the emergency section. She went to get seen and every time was away for a bit before coming back as they had to first get information and then run several checks on her. She wanted to stay at the same hostel as me so I booked it for her on my phone with the wifi there and found out that she was called Anna and from Sweden. She went off again when called and I carried on reading game of thrones and after a while a doctor came to find me as she had been put into a ward. I got her luggage and left most of mine and followed the doctor to a small ward where Anna had a bed at the end. It seemed they still didn't know what was wrong with her but they were going to give her some injections and she might leave in an hour. I decided to check into my hostel and then come back so I went to get my luggage and headed out. The hostel was not too far but some of the roads did not link up like the map said. Still I got there and they had my booking and showed me the room which was open plan with one bunk and one single bed. I left the single bed for Anna and took the bottom bunk and went to head out. The woman wanted me to check in but I'd left my passport upstairs so we agreed to for it later. I headed back a different route looking for food but there wasn't much possibly because if Ramadan so I went to a 7-11 where I got a pot noodle and some cakes. I went to the hospital and went to the ward where she was still in bed. She told me they were going to keep her there overnight which was probably best. I headed back to the hostel as I couldn't cancel the Agoda booking for her and I got a pizza slice for 2.80 ringitts from a hospital shop. I got back and Zeck and his wife were praying as it was 5pm so I went upstairs first for a few things and moved my things to the single bed. I went back down and knocked so Zeck came out and I asked to cancel the other room which he did and booked me in and I paid the 15 ringitts for the night. He recommended I see the Ramadan market which was near to the stadium and hospital so I went out that way. There were stalls set up but it was still a while to sunset so there wasn't much to buy but I bought a fresh mango juice and headed towards the sites if Kota Bharu starting with the museum. There was a nice small park on a traffic island in front if the museum, but the museum itself was closed. I couldn't see what time it opened or the cost and I left and walked towards the waterfront. The river when I got there was not so nice but it was a short walk along to a clock tower and then a war memorial museum that was also closed. There was a nice looking mosque nearby which I walked around but it wasn't very photogenic because if things around. There was a park called independence park which had a monument and a view to the clocktower as well and it wasn't a had looking town as on the other side of the road was a gate and a palace as well as a nice looking wooden building which was a museum. I took a few pictures and then went in the direction of the hostel via a night market and another market. The first market was not quite happening and the indoor bazaar was shut, maybe because it was late but when I got to the night market there were quite a lot if people and it was busy as the sun had set. I had a look around and found a stall with noodles which looked good only there were 4 Spanish people there buying things and taking their time with it. I found another stall I liked with rolls and balls but there was nobody serving. The Spanish had finished so I went to get some noodles and a small portion was just 1 ringitt. Then I went back to the other stall which had someone serving but the 4 Spanish were there taking their time ordering. Eventually I got 6 items chopped up with sauce in a box for 4 ringitts and headed off. I tried to get some super glue to fix the blue Nike shoes but couldn't find any so when I got back to the hostel I just got some water and headed out again. I went towards some religious buildings but after a while gave up as they were too far and starting heading back but got lost a bit. I did end up finding a shop not too far from the hostel which sold things for 2 ringitts and I got super glue and some sunglasses. I went back to the hostel and used the super glue to fix my trainers and then the 2 pairs of broken sunglasses I had. By the time I'd finished it was late and I did a bit of planning before going to bed to try to catch up on the sleep I'd missed. The room was hot but only had a fan to cool it so it was a tough choice of noise or heat so I didn't get to sleep so easily.
