I woke up around 7 and showered upstairs so as not to wake people. I went downstairs and used the computer to update myblog. Around 9.30 some of the girls came down and one cooked eggs. I took a plate with eggs and ate it with bread as there was a queue for the toaster and then I followed it with about 6 more slices of bread with jam before getting ready and heading out. I went to the tube and bought a ticket to Gwangyo which is in the Suwon area and went down to the train platform where I found I had an old coin amongst those in my pocket so I put it in my bag and then thought to look for my USB and it wasn't there. I must have left it at the hostel in the computer, would it be safe there? I decided not to risk it and headed back and as I went though the gate my ticket value went down to 0 and I hadn't gone anywhere. I got to the hostel and found the USB and as I was still hungry I had another 2 slices of bread with jam. I went to the station and checked if there was a day pass which I thought I'd bought in Seoul on my first visit, but there was no such option. I went to the barrier and my ticket didn't work but I went through anyway. It was a long journey so I arrived around lunch time and jumped the ticket barrier before heading west to the world cup stadium. There was a Lotte supermarket so I went in and it wasn't so cheap but I bought a few things and ate the tofu first. There was a temple before the stadium and it had a few buildings some of them a decent size. I was trying to find a shortcut but a female monk (???) said there was no path there so I went round and found a view of the football stadium. I walked up to it and around but the views were never that good and it was all fenced with no entry I could see. They were also hosting under 20 world cup games and I headed on to look for the memorial museum for the world cup but there was nothing there so I just carried on to the city walls. It was a nice clean looking wall and there were steps up with no ticket office so I went up and started walking round anti-clockwise. I ate some of the mini tomatoes which were delicious and had a couple of slices of cheese as well and was enjoying the day as it was sunny again and I think I'd heard the song Mr Blue sky somewhere as they seem to like it in Korea. I walked around the wall and took a lot of pictures, went into some pavilions and turrets although most of those were locked. There were a few gates as well and quite a few views of the surrounding town. The wall went round to the south and came to a dead end so I had to go back a bit and then down and west into town where there was an old gate left standing on a roundabout with no wall connected. Nearby was a market and I had a look around and bought some more tomatoes but this time 6 full sized ones for 2000. I rejoined the eastern wall and went along back towards where I had started but there was a big cathedral of to the east that I really wanted to go to as it was big and I liked its design. Unfortunately there weren't so many roads that way through the walls so I went down into town to see a temple but it was mostly blocked by construction work and quite small anyway. I went back to the gap in the wall and went to the church or cathedral from there and it looked good up close as well. I tried all the doors and most were locked but one was open and the man on the desk said something and pointed up. I had a look around and went up the stairs all the way to the top, 8 or 9 floors but the main hall was locked and there was no good view at the top. I went back down and back into town and went to the palace in the middle of the walls. The palace looked a bit flat and not so impressive so I gave it a miss and went to a bronze statue of a king which they were pleased with as they had it on a few tourist boards but it wasn't much for me. I left through the walls and eventually found the right path down and then headed off to a park with a lake to the west. I got to a main road which looked difficult to cross but I made it and then had a railway in the way and no bridges or underpasses. I walked along a bit to what looked like an underpass but it just seemed to follow the road and there was also another road down there, like a secret road hidden away. The path went up some stairs so I went out expecting to have not gone very far but when I checked maps I was on the other side of the railway only there was a fence in my way so I had to follow the road for a bit. I came to where a museum was supposed to be and had a look but it was more like a university than a museum so I went to the lake and walked around it to a church. There were a few monuments in the park, but as it was getting on I went to the nearby station and got the subway to near the Olympic Park. It as a fair way so I arrived close to 8pm and went into the park. There was a nice Olympic gate and then lots of flags possibly of all nations who competed. I looked for a museum and if course it was closed and the memorial hall didn't seem to be there but I did find a Turkish fountain only it was dark and turned off. I followed a path around the park but then climbed up a grass hill to get to a viewpoint where I could see a few buildings with lights on. I went down to another museum which was also shut so its a shame I wasn't here in the daytime. There was a lake and I crossed over a bridge to come to the Olympic swimming pool that was being used for swimming and also for a gym class. The next stadium for gymnastics was fenced off and then there was a box place before the velodrome. I went past that and out and headed towards Lotteworld but stopped at a couple of supermarkets and bought an ice cream at one. I got to a lake which was busy with lots of Koreans running or power walking around it so I left to get out of their was and had a look at Lotte duty free but it was mainly clothes shops. There was a statue of Goethe and a tall building called the Lotte tower which turned out to be 555 metres high and was ₩27,000 to go up. I think it was less than a year old and somehow didn't look that tall. I headed on and found the Lotteworld which is kind of an amusement entertainment place. There were lots of people leaving for the day do maybe it was closing up. Nearby was a Lotte supermarket which I naturally went into and it was pretty good only as it was my last night I didn't need so much so I only bought some biscuits and some discounted sushi. I left the building and went back on the tube eating the sushi on the way. I arrived fairly late but as usual the people in my room were still up and messing around despite the time. I went downstairs with my 2 pairs of shorts and sewed them up a bit as they both had rips then I used the computer a bit before going upstairs and reading until past 12 when somebody finally turned the light off and I went to sleep.
