I woke up at a normal time of 7am, did my things and went downstairs to book another 2 nights at the hostel and the office was open so I left the a/c remote there but there was nobody around. I used the WiFi and took a free booklet on the island which had info and was useful and I waited but nobody came so I went upstairs and came back down before I finally got to extend my stay for 380 baht. Now I could buy a big 6 litre water which is what I did and Jose was awake when I got back to the room. He was happy with my plan of seeing the waterfalls in the east and then going to the north west beach so I went to hire a bike and the lady in our hostel told me to use the Hacienda beach, the twin hostel but they didn't have any helmets left so I went back to the street and there was a place nearby, same price 250 as everywhere else. I had to leave my passport and the cost of replacing parts was a lot and I was also responsible if someone crashed into me but I still hired it. Jose got on the back of the bike and we headed off east on the road and he checked his phone which had maps on now so we made a turning and headed north. We stopped for the big tree I'd seen 2 days back but Jose wasn't interested in temples and soon the roads became more hilly which meant I went slower. There were signs for waterfalls but we carried in to a checkpoint where they told us to park and walk so we did. There was a sign for a viewpoint so we went that way and it was a bit of a walk where there was a bar that insisted only people buying things go in so we didn't and found a route down to the beach. The beach was stony but nice otherwise and sloped quite a bit so it would have been good for swimming. We left and followed the stream path which wasn't really a part and had us climbing over rocks but the stream was nice and there were some small waterfalls. Then we found a path to the road and started heading back to the bike but Jose saw a sign for the viewpoint so we must be going the wrong way. We changed direction and went past where we had been and some bikes came along, had they ducked the checkpoint as a guy did earlier. We asked but they didn't understand what checkpoint so I worked out they hadn't come to it yet and we turned around again and walked the other way. We came to the checkpoint and the bike which was hot from being in the sun and drove it to the next waterfall spot. We walked down a path to get to the stream and there were other people there and a couple of waterfalls no more than a few metres high. It was dry season but I couldn't see these waterfalls ever being amazing so I'm not sure why the king wanted to come here so much. We went back to the bike and drove to another spot, Jose wanted to rest in the shade and I had a look but there wasn't really a part to the waterfall. We drove on to the statue of the king and took a couple of pictures and then we were done with the area. We drove all the way back to town and I went a bit faster as I was more used to driving. We stopped at C market and got some food and ate it back at the hostel as it was lunchtime. We headed out again and drove along the road in the middle that I had walked the day before and it was quite quick as it was flat and we got to the 7-eleven shop. Jose had a look at the map and there wasn't much east but there was a nudist beach so we went to have a look. The roads were not so good and we couldn't find a route to the beach and ended up walking to a different beach. It wasn't worth staying so we headed west and went to the beach. It was the strip of beach and sand bar that connects to the island and we walked along it that we were near to the island and the coral reef. We both went swimming and it was a while before I was happy swimming further away from the bags and went to the coral. The water was shallow with rocks for the first part, then coral and it did get deeper but the light was straight above so it was hard to see and there wasn't much anyway. Jose didn't like the water much as he'd stood on too many stones and he wanted shade so we moved down the beach where I slept a bit. We left around 4pm and drove to the viewpoint bar I was at the day before, but they had a party on and it was 100 baht entry so instead we went to the view from the rocks where we could see the beach we'd been on. We got back on the bike and headed south and stopped at Haad salad as I wanted to see if the Dutch girls were around. They weren't staying at the resort I thought but they let me use the WiFi and I sent Ilona a message. We had a look at the beach but it wasn't good for swimming either so we left and carried on south. There were the viewpoints from the day before and we stopped at 2 before going to a nudist beach with a viewpoint on a hill. It was just past where I had ended up the day before but despite searching we couldn't see a path up. We went to the beach and there was nudity but also clothed people and a juggler practising. We stayed as the was deeper and I had a nice swim. More people turned up and it had a nice vibe with someone playing guitar as the sun started setting but as I wanted to see a nearby temple we headed back to the bike taking pictures on the way. The temple was nothing special and wasn't far but by the time we got to the beach just south the sun had gone past the horizon. We stayed for a little but the insects were out as they had been on the nudist beach. We headed back on the bike and stopped at a couple of supermarkets taking the discounted and cheap food for dinner. We went back to the hostel and ate and the group of young French girls in the room were all getting ready for the full moon party with face paint and things and they left us some paint to use so after they had gone we put some on and got ready before heading out taking just a few things as I was worried my things might get stolen at the party. I drove all the way there past many trucks full of people also going to the party so it wasn't too hard navigating as most people were going the same way. We arrived around 9pm and there were lots of parking spaces already filled but I found a fairly empty field only someone came and asked us to pay to leave it there which I didn't like so I drove around a bit more and found somewhere which I thought was safe enough and I bookmarked it on my phone although it wasn't working too well. I found Jose and we headed in to the beach where the party is supposed to be and we came to a table where people were taking 100 THB for entry and a wristband which we paid and shortly afterwards I wondered if that was a genuine stall but it did seem ok. We hit the beach where there was quite a lot of space and various clubs all playing their own music. Jose had phone credit and tried to contact someone he had met on the boat here and also the Dutch girls from the previous day. I wanted to see the whole area so we headed all the way to the North end of the beach where there was another club and we got a view of the whole beach and it seemed that there was more going on down the other end so we headed back there. There were lots of stalls selling buckets of drinks for around 100 THB upwards, but as I was driving I wasn't going to be able to drink much and just had some water. We stopped at a couple of places to listen to some music and dance a bit before making it to the south end and to a gymnastics bar where guys were showing off doing pull ups and spining around. Jose went up and did a few and we stayed there a bit before moving on and coming to a flaming skipping rope and again Jose went and had a go and managed to only get slightly singed. There were also fire dancers somewhere else and in the middle area there was a space for people to rest if they were tired or too drunk. There were quite a few people there and the whole place filled up with people making it more difficult to move around. We stayed until around 2.30 before heading back and had trouble finding the bike as my GPS was not working but we managed to find the bike and the drive back was ok. Got back and rubbed off the face paint before going to sleep
