I woke up at 3am, it was hot and sticky and I was uncomfortable, I tried to sleep but couldn't. After a bit I realised that I'd been bitten so I switched on my phone and found 2 bed bugs in the bed. I looked around a bit more and there was one on the wall. I managed to find the switch for the a/c but it was right next to me and too loud to sleep with it on. I worried for maybe an hour but there were no more bed bugs and I eventually got to sleep and woke up at 6 when David's phone alarm was going off. Somehow it didn't wake him so he may not have been on time for his boat but I drifted off at some point and woke up again at 8am. I got up and showered and went out to see if there were ferries and went east where David had said to go but I couldn't find the access and google seemed to think most ferries leave from Hong Kong Island anyway. I came back via the park to see the flamingos and aviary which was small and had pigeons in. I ate some more biscuits, got some water and went back to the flat. I shaved so I would look better for Macau and packed up and left. I realised that I'd left my toiletries behind but someone opened the door so I got them. I went to the ferry place which was a bit of a bumpy walk for my suitcase and paid 2.50 got the ferry, again lower deck although I'm not sure there are any others. On the other side it was a 10 minute walk to the Macau Ferry Terminal although it wasn't signposted so I wasn't sure. I bought the last cheap ticket departing at 5.15 for HKD 164. I asked if I could leave my luggage there but he said only 1 hour before the journey. I went downstairs and the luggage machines charged 90 HKD for 2 hours so it would be 180 for me which is quite a bit. I left the case under some tarp and a bin bag and went off. I went West along the seafront with some views of Kowloon and came to a small park with a statue of Sun Yen-Tsu and a water fountain I used. After that I headed inland and was going towards some churches when I saw 2 trams which made me decide to take one as its a recommended experience. I only went 3 or 4 stops and got off so didn't see much but it only cost 2.30 HKD and it saved me some time. I found a supermarket nearby which was good otherwise I might just be eating biscuits and I bought some tofu, 5 apples and 2 bananas. The apples were good and it has been a long time. I soon came to steps to go up the hill towards Victoria peak and I counted 540 steps as well as some upwards slopes which I climbed. I was sweating a bit and regretted putting my trousers on. At the top the path carried on to a small battery which was largely ruins now but they had a lot of information displays so I walked all around. I finished and followed the path and came to a rest area with toilets, a banana peeled later and I headed up to the viewpoint at the top which was ok for views of the north, but there was no access right to the top. I went back down a bit took a shortcut that wasn't really a path which was not great but I've done worse and I headed round on the main walking path which had lots of information boards and the occasional view. The path ended where the cable car stopped and there was a big building which charged for views at the top. There was another building which said it was a gallery but was just a mall. I stayed for a few photos and then headed down the hill. I managed to get lost at the bottom on the roads as they and the map didn't seem to match up and roads went under others. Eventually I found my way with another non path shortcut and came to the zoo. It was quite small but ok with lemurs, birds, monkeys, tortoise, and I saw 1 meerkat. The lemurs were trying to escape through the roof of the cage something I've seen elsewhere as well. I took the roads back and stopped at a shop and bought a pot noodle which I used to cook the tofu and I ate both. I got back to the ferry port and my suitcase had been moved. I had one of those moments before I saw it just a couple of metres away not covered. The man in the shop was not happy at me for leaving it there someone trued to translate and I think maybe he'd been worried what the case was. I went to get the ferry and went through customs and I realised I'd forgotten to return my octopus card which was worth 50 and had 45 charge on still. Then there was a luggage place for the ferry so I went there and they charged me 25 dollars as my suitcase was oversized. I took it on board myself and left it near the back so I think I made a mistake and could gave not paid if I didn't weigh the case. I had one of 4 seats near toilet with 3 girls on the others watching TV on their phones. The boat arrived and I went to get a free bus and took the Parisian as it was there and not packed. We got to the hotel and someone helped me leave my luggage and said it was free although I thought they expected me to check into the hotel. I went straight to the casino, which was pretty big but didn't have my games so I was soon bored. They seemed to have Baccarat, blackjack and a few others like roulette and the Indonesian dice game. I walked out and there was a boulevard which looked nice but was basically a shopping area. Next I found the buffet room but it was really quite expensive with breakfast 220 MOP and dinner 300. I saw signs for the Eiffel tower so I went there but that cost quite a bit as well. I left the Parisian and went outside where there were good views of the tower and the replica arc de triomphe as well. I walked along to the last casino in the area which was Studio city and I went inside where they had a casino as well as a magic show, batman and a kids Warner brothers area. Batman and the kids area were shut and the magic show was expensive so I left and got a few views and photos walking past the Parisian to the Venetian. This place had some nice doge palace type buildings and towers in front and inside there was a canal with gondolas and a punter serenading with a guitar rather than punt. They also had a casino which was similar to the others and I left to see some other places. I crossed the road and found some travelators so I didn't have to walk as much and the places were hotels rather than casinos. By now it was getting late and I was hungry so I found a supermarket on the map away from the casinos and went there. I bought coconut biscuits, bananas, tofu and maybe some other things and then walked back through Taipei town which looked ok. I sat and ate in a park before walking to the galaxy casino. I went into Galaxy which didn't have much of a theme to it but was a nice grand looking place and I found a wall socket in the casino to charge my phone while I played some 5 cent slots. I sat there for a while and occasionally checked things on the internet with the wifi before I got bored. I walked around and ended up leaving and going to Broadway a nearby casino wshich was mostly shut. I went outside and there was a bus schedule notice and the next bus to tarworld was at 1.30am. I had a quick look around the place and then got the free shuttle bus. Starworld seemed ok again with no overriding theme and I found some comfy chairs to rest in and charge my phone. I left after a bit and went across the road to a small place with mainly shops before going to the Landmark which had an Egyptian theme. I had to become a pharoahs member to go in the casino and again it didn't have poker but they did say I could leave my bag there which as I left seemed like a good idea especially as I was getting a bit tired. I still had a few more casinos to see and went to the Lisboa which had a fairly empty casino that didn't look so new. Next door was the Grand Lisboa which was bigger and had a dome at the top which when I took the lift up to see was closed. They were also planning to build a Grand Lisboa palace soon and had models of it in a hall area. I crossed back over the main road and went to the Wynn which looked like the Vegas place, tall and thin so every room gets a view probably. Their casino had poker but the betting was too rich for me and I would need to put down a few hundred to have enough. I went to the MGM which had the lions in front and otherwise was similar to the other places, finally there was L'arc which was s bit small. I went back and left my bag in the Wynn and then went back to Starworld to sleep in the seating area I'd charged my phone earlier. I slept a bit but was woken about 40 minutes later by a security guard so I went to a business area upstairs but I expected a security guard might come there as well so I went to the toilet and slept there.
