I got up a bit late as I wasn't so interested in sunrise and I went and read some more of the book. I was getting to know the people who worked at panorama by being around so much. I didn't get breakfast and just had a couple of biscuits before the first dive which was to temple and was a deep dive. I was back with Kiko, Sebastian, Valerie and a still excited Orsi. We headed out and it was a bit further away. There was no mooring lone to follow so we got out near the pinnacle and unfortunately there was a bit of a current. We went all the way to the bottom and Kiko showed us an empty water bottle which got squeezed from the pressure. Then at the bottom he showed us a colour chart and the first two colours, red and orange had changed as red light didn't come down this far. We each had dive computers and we were at 23.3m which is not so deep for a deep dive and we started heading up along the reef where there were quite a few things to see like a Moray eel. It was a bit busy with other divers there and I went past Mark and we high fived. My air was running low quite quickly so I swam a bit higher which worried Kiko as he thought I was too buoyant and put another weight on me. We went round a bit more and Sebastian took photos or video with his Sony camera and when we went out I was down to maybe 40 bars of air. Kiko told us the current had meant we hadn't gone around to the other side of the pinnacle which was a shame but apart from being crowded it was a good site. We went back and I got some money and went and had the breakfast buffet. Maybe because they hadn't let me eat more the day before or because I'm a bit greedy I absolutely stuffed myself with 4 plates of food and quite a bit of orange juice so that when it came to dive again I wasn't feeling so great. It was a wreck dive and I was with 2 Spanish girls, Paula and Lenie and our instructor was Conxi. I met Anne-Claire who wasn't diving today but was going to do a fish identification dive to complete the course the next day. We had a briefing from Yumi and then kitted up and headed out to the sugar wreck which was a big boat. There was a rope to follow at the dive site and quite a 3 boats of people there including Mark again with some fun divers. We went down to the bottom which was 19m and had to point out 3 hazards around the wreck. The boat itself was deteriorating but only sank in 2000 so was still fairly new. There were quite a few things to see and we also had to avoid the sea urchins at the bottom and try not to stir up the sand as that reduces visibility. We swam around and saw what looked like 2 pufferfish mating or fighting. My air got low quickly so I signalled and we went back up and I finished with 30 bar while Paula still had 100 but the other group came up so she couldn't go back down. It was a good final dive and we went back, I cleaned my things and got a couple of bananas to eat. I changed and then headed out to see the south of the island this time which was a better path at first but the stones gad fallen away in places so it wasn't so good. There were lizards and squirrels running away from me and again it was a hot day. I got to the south where there was a village with a mosque which was nice and in the water. I had a quick look inside and then carried on and the place had a few shops and a water machine which I should have used but I still had quite a bit of water at the time. The shops seemed a little cheaper but I still had a banana so I ate that and carried on. There were a few more beaches I came to, one empty, one with cabins and one with a few things including a bar. I got to coral beach which is just the west beach not too far from long beach and it was 5pm. It was a little cleaner than long beach but a similar size and I found a place with meals and unlimited ice tea for 12 ringitts which appealed as I was thirsty. I headed on though as it was so early and talked to a girl in a dive shop for a bit. I walked past a hotel which had a 19 ringitt buffet from 7pm and then some more hotels which looked nice with water features. The next beach was fairly shabby with a hut that someone lived in and I carried on but after a bit just gave up on going to the next beach and went back to coral beach. The plan was to be there for sunset so I had a swim and lay on the beach tanning and listening to music. After I decided to get the buffet and went and sat there a few minutes early and 2 Chinese girls paid and started so I went to pay and found that they did a buffet without the extra meat for 15 RM so I chose that. I started with the soup and then had salad and followed that with a main course including rice, noodles, chicken and vegetables. I was also drinking a lot of water and I left my food a few times to go and take photos of the sunset which seemed a bit north and not just west. The sunset wasn't the best but it was still over water and I finished up my meal with 2 more courses of dessert and then another salad. I headed back in the dark and got lost at first before asking and finding the path which started through a restaurant and hotel. The path was good, probably because it got used a bit but it was still a bit dark so I used my phone torch and made it back with no problems.
I was a bit down the beach so I decided to get some vodka and the beach bar had Sharon from Panorama there with 2 other women. We talked a little and I tried to buy a bottle of vodka but they didn't sell it, it was another bar that did. I went to the other bar and paid the 30 ringitts for the 350ml bottle then headed back. I left most of my things and poured the vodka into a water bottle then went and got a pineapple juice at the bar and joined the party. There were quite a few people around the table and the girl I was next to was the one sleeping below me. A bit later lots more people joined including 3 English girls, a Dutch guy and an American guy. One of the English girls called Rose had a conversation with the American about Buddhism and then philosophy in general which was interesting. I finished the vodka and pineapple at some point so went and bought another and later on we moved to the other bar as a smaller group. There was a fire nearby which is done most night and they had a fire dancer and later people just danced around the fire. It finished up with just 6 of us including Mark, Gisa, my room mate, me and 2 guys playing I've never until maybe 4.30am when we went to bed.
