I woke up at 3.45, my body clock had done well again, I packed up my things and was ready just past 4am so I went downstairs and tried to use the WiFi but it wasn't working. I thought about going to the Hacienda beach resort for their WiFi but it was a sandy path and I had all of my luggage so I headed for the pier instead. I was early but still there were quite a few people around and the woman at the desk just tour one of my tickets off so I probably didn't need to see her. I walked to the boat which was a car ferry and they let me on so I went through the main door and upstairs where there were seats and already done people sitting. None of the seats could be laid across due to armrests so I chose the front area which had a TV on. It was quite loud and I wanted to sleep so I messed around and switched it off. The boat filled up to about 50% capacity, we headed off on time and I lay on my bag and slept for a lot of the journey. We arrived around 8 and walked off the boat and a bus turned up which took us into town. It stopped at a travel agent shop where I'd been before and I was considering what to do when an orange bus came so I got on as did 2 girls who'd paid to go to the train station. The bus took a while but was 15 baht again and did go to the train station. My phones GPS wasn't working again which was annoying and I went to the ticket counter to get a train to Hua Hin. There were only a couple of trains one a 10.40 which was the express and cost 490 baht and at 4.55pm it was just 184 baht. I decided to take the early train as it was near the end of my holiday and I didn't bus have much time left but the bus may have been better. I got the ticker and waited on platform, read a bit and ate some food. The train was on time and my reserved seat had someone in the seat next to mine so I sat back a bit on another seat. Lunch was provided, a benefit of the expensive ticket and then we stopped and a people got on and a guy sat next to me with his 2 friends on seats across. Soon another person got on so I moved to my seat and used my phone charger. We kept stopping and some people got off so I moved again and soon more got on so I moved back, it was becoming a bit of a chore as everyone stuck to their seat numbers. We got a snack to eat and the train arrived at Hua Hin a little past 4pm. I got out and the train station was nice, kind of colonial looking. I went to find my hostel/hotel and it was not where the map had it but there was a notice telling me where to go so I found it and checked in with a 200 baht deposit. I got given a bottle of water and then he got confused after a bit and gave me another water and the key. I went up and there was a Danish guy in room and lots of empty beds I had number 1 which was above him so took another one instead and got my things and headed out. The nearby park I went to first was not good but they had a statue of a Thai world boxing champion (light weight I think). I found a water machine and moved on to a temple which was big but not great. Carrying on I got to a Chinese temple next to the sea which was ok but small. There was a beach with a pier and buildings on stilts like a pier, but it was all a bit run down and not a great area. I went back to the road and bought a sweet sandwich for just 5 baht and headed back into town to go to some markets which turned out to be closed up. There were some stalls around the outside which were open but not a great price on the things they had so I kept moving and crossed the railway going north and there were lots of murals of the king on a wall. I took a road all the way to a Big C supermarket which was good and I bought a few things to eat before heading on to some nearby temples. By now it was fairly late but not quite dark and I managed to find a path through some back way to avoid going round on the roads. There was a reclining Buddha and some other temple buildings which were not great but the light was failing. There were quite a few dogs about of the barking kind so I didn't bother go round all the places and I'd seen enough after a last pagoda. I headed back and got some water on the way from a machine as they are so much cheaper. At the hostel I chatted a bit to the Danish guy who mentioned the night market so I went out to look for it and went past the train station and found another water machine. The grand market was selling tourist stuff and things I didn't need but I had eaten enough and after a look around I headed back. I rested, read a bit and went to sleep early at 10.30.
